Venice in the Autumn with Grand Tourist

Autumn is a great time to visit Venice, fewer people, mild days and plenty of art to discover.

The Biennale runs through to 22nd November. Lubaina Himid at the British Pavilion is the star of the show for me. Colour, joy, realism in a delicious and questioning package.

We’ll be in Venice in September, October and November, 2026! It’s not too late to book a tour, experience our ‘Signature Day on the Lagoon’ or to discover the hidden gardens and corners of Venice.

We will also be visiting the new exhibition at The Guggenheim – a show focusing on Peggy Guggenheim’s art gallery in London in the 1930s. The show is brilliantly curated by the talented Grazina Subelyte: Peggy Guggenheim – The Making of a Collector

UPDATE – A highlight for me this year – the peace and calm of the Scalzi Garden next door to the train station. This beautiful monastic garden is open to Biennale visitors and is a joy. An oasis of calm in the city!
