Thinking chair - shores of Lake Michigan - fabulous!
The Morgan Library, New York - an exceptional collection of books, manuscripts, paintings and sculpture. European art plus American financial clout established some breath-taking collections from the 1880s until the 1940s. I’m thinking William Randolph Hearst at San Simeon, California. Morgan and Frisk in New York and Isabella Stewart Gardner in Boston. #art #collections #libraries #manuscripts #heritage #museum #gallery #history
This is my next read, can’t wait, out 23rd August. About life in an ‘ideal town’ built in the 1870s by the Crespi family for their factory workers - similar concept & philosophy to Port Sunlight (Lever Brothers) and Bournville (Cadbury)…Victorian philanthropy @editricenord @alessandra_selmi @annakhfox @annewilliams7093 @maryloupeterspainter
Mud mud glorious mud nothing quite like it for cooling the blood - perfect well being retreat #AbanoTerme #fango wp.me/p5eFNn-4wW magical time at the medical spa at Abano Terme - one day @jayne_seddon x
No wonder Queen Victoria preferred Disraeli! What can I say….. adore the library. The man himself….potentially a bit grim…..
