Standing under one of the largest Murano glass chandeliers ever made. Shipped piece by piece from Murano, Venice to Palazzo Gangi, Palermo to decorate the fabulous ballroom. This same ballroom was used in the filming of the iconic ‘Il Gattopardo’ film starring Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale and Alain Delon. Our private tour of the palace was delivered elegantly and knowledgeably by Princess Carine. She and her husband have worked tirelessly to restore the palace over the last twenty years. #Sicily #Palermo #Leopard #gattopardo #burtlancaster #alaindelon #claudiacardinale #risorgimento #bellezza

After the rain - the sun shines again. Duomo of San Giorgio, Ragusa with life size statue of St George slaying the dragon. St George is the patron saint of Ragusa. Brave, powerful, killer of dragons! #Ragusa #StGeorge #grandtourist #educatedtraveller
