Look 👀 what book made its way to Sicily, specifically the charming Baroque town of Ragusa. This is Montalbano country but a dash of American Civil War determination is a perfect blend… Sophfronia Scott’s latest novel charts a determined young woman’s journey from privilege to slavery. A tale of survival, determination and fortitude.
William and Bilge (Billgay) get engaged in the gorgeous setting of Ragusa, Sicily. Sunshine, sparkling aquamarine and the dome of San Giorgio in the background. Tomorrow Bilge and I start another tour for #grandtourist in Sicily - will William survive the separation #Sicily #grandtourist #ragusa #baroque #baroccasiciliana #sicilia #itinerary https://wp.me/p5eFNn-7zq
Never a dull moment! Etna had a little rumble on Tuesday! Our next destination, you’ve guessed it: Sicily! Fortunately we are 120 kms south of the spluttering giant. #grandtourist #educatedtraveller #Greece #Sicily #Italy #journeys why does Etna erupt? A short explanation: https://wp.me/p5eFNn-63m
Skopelos, Greece - a room with a view! Fantastic island just east of Skiathos. Sea views, Greek hospitality. Delightful. Next small group visit May 2024. https://wp.me/p5eFNn-7RL #journeys #Greece #explore #discover #skopelos #grandtourist #educatedtraveller #italy #Sicily #discovery @aperittonhotel @sincerely__lisa

Rest and relaxation on the island of Skopelos. Blue skies, blue seas, fantastic Greek hospitality. #grandtourist #Greece #journeys #explore #educatedtraveller #mammamia
Delphi - marvelling at this fabulous Sanctuary to Apollo which was a sacred place for all Greek city states - a place to pay homage and visit ‘The Oracle’ Archaeological excavations in the 1890s revealed numerous statutes, carvings, jewellery and friezes. Exceptional treasures. The Charioteer is my favourite - bronze state from 4th century BCE. Exceptional and influenced Mariano Fortuny #Delphi #Fortuny #grandtourist #educatedtraveller #journeys #Europe #Italy #Greece https://wp.me/p5eFNn-2rT
